Dovetail Jig 4216- Half Blind
AnsweredNewby here. While setting up my jig for half blind dovetails, i noticed that when i snugged up the comb-lock knobs that the comb was drawn down. I placed my stock boards in the horizontal position to set the comb height, but when I would tighten the knobs the comb was pulled down tighter against the boards. I can pull the boards out when i release the clamp bar, but slipping the next board in requires me to slightly flex the comb up to allow the board to go in. Is this a normal phenomenon?

Hi David Herrmann, it is normal to slightly flex the comb up in order to slip the next board in after releasing the clamp bar.
