replacement Inner Flange for angle grinder is too loose
AnsweredI ordered a new inner flange for my Porter Cable Angle Grinder, I own a PC750AG, Type 1. The part sent to me was a Dewalt Inner Flange PN 5140014-93. This flange has two flats that fit over the flats on the grinder shaft which lock in when the outer flange is tightened. Measuring across the flats on the "new" inner flange I got .695 in., measuring across the flats on my grinder I got .650 in. Almost a .050 in difference? My grinders flats are "not worn" or they would be rounded on the leading edges, which they are not. In my experience with high speed machinery, this is way too loose a fit. My dilemma obviously is that the new part doesn't fit right. Where do I go for a inner flange with the correct dimensions?
